Radiofrequency Microneedling
(Virtue RF)
Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling is an advanced cosmetic procedure that combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy, targeting the deeper layers of the skin, enhancing collagen production and improving skin texture. This dual-action treatment uses tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin while simultaneously delivering radiofrequency energy, stimulating collagen and elastin. This treatment addresses fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity. RF Microneedling can also treat areas of the body to improve texture or skin elasticity. Our advanced Virtue RF technology offers versatile treatments tailored to address a variety of skin concerns.
What will my face look like after Radiofrequency Microneedling
After the process of RF microneedling, it is expected to feel like a light sunburn and have red inflammation of the skin. Swelling is quite normal, and tiny little red dots can take up to two weeks to fully heal and go away. A cold cool compression on the skin can help ease any inflammation.
Traditional Microneedling VS RF Microneedling?
Traditional microneedling involves a special device that produces micro-injuries in the skin to stimulate the body’s own healing response and initiate collagen and elastin production which tightens the skin and reduces the appearance of common skin complaints including acne scarring and fine lines.
RF Microneedling involves an additional element of radiofrequency energy (heat) that enables more dramatic and faster results. The RF energy is delivered deep into the dermis layer of the skin via 36 small needles. The RF energy heats the underlying layers of skin, triggering constriction and enhancing skin tightening. The process stimulates collagen and elastin production which helps to reduce the appearance of acne scarring and aging signs. Incorporating RF technology addresses more skin concerns (i.e. the breakdown of scar tissue and improving cellulite).
- Treatment can be customized to target specific skin issues.
How many RF Microneedling treatments are needed?
The number of treatments required vary from person to person. This depends on the nature of an individual’s skin concerns and how the body responds to the treatment.
For most patients, full results are achieved after 2-4 treatment sessions, with sessions every 4 - 6 weeks, on average.
What are the different Virtue RF treatment options offered?
- Deep RF: Designed to target deeper layers of the skin for those seeking to address sagging, skin laxity, and overall structural support
- Smart RF: Designed to target upper layers of skin, focusing on refining surface texture, reducing fine lines, minimizing pores, and evening out skin tone. Best for those seeking smoother skin texture and a refreshed, youthful glow with minimal downtime.
- Exact RF: Designed fr specific delicate areas like around the eyes, minimizing fine lines, crow’s feet, and loose skin.

IPL (PhotoFacial)
IPL or Intense Pulsed Light (otherwise known as Photofacial) is a non-invasive broad-spectrum light treatment that targets red and brown pigments in the skin. It is commonly employed to address issues such as sun damage, pigmentation irregularities, redness (Rosacea), and certain signs of aging, resulting in a more even skin tone.
IPL treatment can be especially helpful in
reversing sun discoloration
from the summer months!
*Please note: There are ethnic considerations with this treatment.
What skin concerns does IPL target?
Since IPL works to address pigment concerns for the skin, the treatment is GREAT for skin concerns such as:
- Rosacea
- broken blood vessels
- age spots
- pigmentation in the skin
Note: This treatment isn’t just for the face. IPL can also target signs of aging on the hands, helping to reduce dark spots, sun damage, and improve overall skin tone.
How long does an IPL treatment take?
The exact time depends on the area that is being treated; however, typically it takes pnly 30 minutes. This timeframe includes an additional 30 minutes for topical numbing to be applied prior to treatment.
When will I begin to see results after an IPL treatment?
Patients will begin to see results 7-10 days after an IPL laser treatment. Full results can be seen after two weeks. Since the IPL stimulates new collagen, continual results will gradually build up to 6 months after the initial treatment.
Is there any downtime associated with an IPL treatment?
There is technically no downtime required after a IPL treatment. You may wear makeup immediately after treatment, and can resume normal activities. After your treatment, you may appear slightly red, similar to a sunburn. Any hyper-pigmentation that you currently have, will begin to darken, and eventually take on the appearance of “coffee grounds”. These “Coffee grounds” will begin to slough off as the skin heals, leaving you with a fresh layer of evenly-toned skin.
What areas can I treat with the IPL treatment?
The IPL treatment can essentially be used on any part of the body. The most popular areas to treat with IPL are the face, neck, chest, arms and hands.
Medical Grade Peels
Medical-grade peels are advanced exfoliating treatments. During the treatment, your provider will apply a chemical solution to your face, neck, hands, and/or chest. After, your skin will begin to peel, revealing healthy, smooth skin underneath.
The treatment can significantly improve skin texture, reduce dark spots, and diminish the appearance of acne scars, making it a powerful solution for achieving a radiant complexion. There are different types of chemical peels available, so you and your provider can determine the best option based on your needs, whether you’re looking for a lighter, more superficial treatment or a deeper peel for more dramatic results.
What kind of medical grade peels do you offer?
At Chronos BHW, we offer three types of peels for custom veratility when treating skin concerns:
- VI Peel
- ZO 3-Step Peel
- Glytone Peels
When is the best time to get a chemical peel?
Like any exfoliation treatment, a chemical peel increases the skin’s sensitivity to the sun as new, fresh layers of skin are exposed. You may get a chemical peel at any time as long as you are cautious about UV damage while your skin is healing, but the best time to get a chemical peel is in the fall, winter, or spring. Plus, your peel will help treat winter dryness by surfacing new, hydrated layers of skin.
Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) Microneedling
PRF Microneedling is a treatment that combines microneedling with the healing properties of platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) derived from the patient's blood. During treatment, a device with tiny needles is used to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin while platelet-rich fibrin, containing growth factors and cytokines, is then applied to the treated area, enhancing the healing and regeneration process.
What can I expect after Microneedling with PRF?
Typically, the skin will appear red (similar to a mild sunburn) for 24-48 hours. With PRF, downtime following therapy has been drastically reduced owing to the ability to rapidly increase the body’s own natural regenerative cells and growth factors. Almost immediately after the facial treatment procedure, your skin will generally feel tighter with greater improvements usually observed within three days.
Who is the ideal candidate for microneedling with PRF?
Microneedling with PRF is a safe and effective procedure. While it does have some recovery time, it’s a minimally invasive treatment that can help with signs of aging. It stimulates collagen, improves scars, and the combined PRF also helps speed up recovery.
Microneedling with PRF is ideal for patients who want to improve:
- Acne scars
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Volume and plumpness
- Facial folds and lines
Exosomes (Add-On)
Microneedling stimulates the skin's natural repair process, and exosomes can help support that response. By pairing exosomes with microneedling and other treatments, patients may further enhance skin rejuvenation, collagen support, and overall skin quality. This advanced regenerative add-on is popular among patients looking to maximize their investment in treatments designed to improve texture, tone, and visible signs of aging. Discover how exosomes can elevate your microneedling results.
