Medicare GLP-1 Bridge
New Medicare Coverage May Help Make GLP-1 Treatment More Accessible
If you have Medicare and have been interested in GLP-1 treatment for weight management, new coverage options may be available to you.
The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge gives certain eligible Medicare Part D patients access to select FDA-approved GLP-1 medications for weight management for a $50 monthly medication copay.
At Chronos, we'll help you determine whether treatment is medically appropriate, prescribe your medication when appropriate, and navigate the Medicare authorization process with you.
Medication coverage may be changing. Your level of care doesn't have to.
Who May Qualify for the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge?
Medicare has established specific eligibility requirements based on factors including BMI, medical history, qualifying health conditions, Medicare coverage, and the reason the medication is being prescribed.
Some patients may qualify based on a BMI of 35 or greater, while patients with lower BMIs may qualify when certain additional health conditions are present.
Already taking a GLP-1? You may still be eligible. Certain Medicare criteria consider your BMI and health status when GLP-1 therapy was initially started, not simply where your weight is today.
Not sure whether you qualify? That's what we're here to help you determine.
Already a Medicare Patient Taking a GLP-1?
Don't assume you have to start over.
If you've already been taking a GLP-1 medication, bring your treatment history with you. Our team can review your previous medication, starting BMI, current treatment, health history, and Medicare coverage to determine what options may be available.
If appropriate, we'll help you navigate the next steps.
Why Choose Chronos for GLP-1 Treatment?
Getting the medication is only the beginning.
GLP-1 treatment shouldn't feel like a monthly prescription transaction.
At Chronos, our providers look at the bigger picture, how you're responding to treatment, side effects, nutrition, lifestyle, progress, plateaus, dosing, and what makes sense for your health long term.
We believe in using the lowest effective dose for as long as it's working appropriately, rather than automatically increasing medication on a predetermined schedule.
Your treatment should be individualized to you.
Medicare may help with access to the medication. Chronos helps manage the care around it.
